We were assigned with creating a XR Platform for Remote Play with Children in Hospitals in cooperation with SUND, we were grouped up with students from their school and they had the idea to create a VR platform for children in hospitals to connect with their family, and pitched it with us in the first meeting. We then started working on their idea.
The primary goal was to provide a means for friends and family to engage in remote play activities with the children. As part of the project, a prototype VR platform was created using cospaces.io, featuring a park with a fun pirate theme, a vibrant theme park, and a virtual hospital room.

The pirate-themed park within the XR platform aimed to ignite children’s imaginations and sense of adventure. It included immersive landscapes, treasure hunts, and pirate ships, providing an engaging and interactive environment. The themepark section focused on thrilling rides, colorful attractions, and interactive games, offering an entertaining experience while adhering to safety guidelines. Lastly, the virtual hospital room was carefully designed to replicate the child’s real hospital setting, incorporating familiar elements such as beds, medical equipment, to create a sense of comfort.
After creating most of it, we showed the group the results, and go their feedback before presenting our work.

Reflection
This project was a lot of fun, having the opportunity to work across studies with someone with a way different education than ours. It also helped us understand the language barrier when working with others, that don’t undertand our lingo.
